Artist Statement
I make art that is rooted in a ‘listening’ self, that cultivates
the intertwining of self and Other suggesting an experience which is not
limiting, but invites dialogue and reciprocal empathy. I am an
interdisciplinary artist. I work in paint, weaving and construct installations
made from my painted woven work. My creative practice has a foundation in
meditation and spirituality.
My current body of work is in researching historic places of war and penitence, slave narratives and places of deep spiritual presence. I am interested in creating large scale installations that bring together woven cloth and structure that are experiential and visual.
Peace. Contemplation. These are intentions I hope my work offers.
